Electric cooperatives are primarily self-governing utility companies. As such, the Florida Public Service Commission has limited jurisdiction in matters relating to electric co-ops. The PSC approves the rate structure of the Cooperative, but does not regulate the Cooperative’s rate level.
The Cooperative’s membership determines rates through the Board of Directors.
