Peace River Electric Cooperative announces the appointment of Thomas C. (Tom) Hackle to the Board of Directors of the co-op’s charitable foundation, Operation Round Up. He was selected by PRECO’s Board of Directors to represent the members of District 3, which includes portions of Polk, and all of Osceola, Brevard and Indian River Counties.
Tom was born and raised in Bartow and is a lifelong resident of the central Florida area. He and his wife Yvonne make their home in Indian Lake Estates, where they have resided since 2003.
Retiring in 2014, Tom formerly worked as a chemical and fertilizer salesman for Growers Fertilizer Corporation in Lake Alfred, Florida, and has been a part of the citrus industry for more than 50 years. He is a graduate of University of Florida in Gainesville.
Tom is a committed attendee and worker at Shady Hammock Baptist Church in Lake Wales, where he serves as trustee, head usher and adult Bible study teacher, and was recently ordained as a deacon.
We are pleased to welcome Tom to the charitable board and look forward to working with him to meet needs in the communities PRECO serves.
