PRECO Charity Grants $15,000 for Addiction Center Renovations

Operation Round Up, the charitable arm of Peace River Electric Cooperative, has granted $15,000 to Caring People Recovery Center (CPRC) in Bowling Green, Florida, to renovate and repair the center’s facilities.

“This grant will allow us to reduce the time required to cook meals for our residents by replacing a commercial gas stove,” shares Mark Parker, CPRC vice president. “Funds will also be used to remodel a dorm bathroom, build roof canopies to prevent rain from damaging doors and doorframes, and correct a few maintenance issues.”

“Our upkeep and facility maintenance costs increase every year,” explains Parker. “If not for programs like Operation Round Up, facilities like CPRC would struggle to make vital upgrades and improvements.”

Caring People, formed in 1996, is a small facility with approximately 30 beds. To learn more about CPRC, visit CaringPeopleRecovery.com.

Operation Round Up is made possible through the donations of Peace River Electric’s consumers who allow their electric bills to be rounded up to the next dollar for charitable purposes. For more information about the Operation Round Up program or to download an application, visit PRECO.coop online.
